How much cabbage and other veggies should we be feeding a 3 month old rabbit?

Our rabbit is about 3-4 months old. She is a little overweight, and we're not sure how much to feed her to keep her healthy.

I have been raising rabbits for 28 years. Trust me, I have learned from expierience. Kuunoita and BradPitt gave you the right answers. Timothy hay is the most important . It should always be available to your bunny. 2nd most important is a good brand of pellets. The kind with different colors and treat looking things in it is not good.

The food should be changed and fresh daily, espically if they are housed outdoors. Contray to the fairy tale stories about rabbits, greens are not good for them, and most of the rabbits I've had do not like carrots. Once a month I give my rabbits a piece of fresh pineapple. My vet recomended it to help with digestion. Rabbits can't throw up, burp, or fart, The pinapple is supposed to get rid of hairballs and anything else they havn't digested for a while. No canned pinapple though, just fresh. Good luck!!!
Reply:keep her on a pellet food diet, so that she can't pick out her favorite bits and get rid of the rest. If you feed her lettuce, only give her about one piece every three days, because too much will give her diarrhea! Feeding her plenty of hay will help her too.
Reply:Keep her on pellets. Only give her veggies once or twice a week. She's getting everything she needs from the pellets. Do not 'over-care' for her!! Just chill out on the veggies! A rabbit can die from not getting enough excercise-'their muscle will cease-up' and system will shut down. Make sure she is well excercised-(a must!) They are easily litter trained also (like a cat). Let her have family time with everyone and show her where the (clean) litter box is if she needs to go when playing with the family. Do not give her veggies constantly, your training her to beg for them and she will also start neglecting her pellets. Good luck.
Reply:give them about half cup of food a day if there is still food the next day don't give more let them finish a serving at a time. veggies: NO lettuce or cabbage can kill domestic rabbits. pellet feed only. That's what i trust. the kind with letters and little shapes in them are not good. 14% protien is the best. Do you know the breed of the bunny!
Reply:Your rabbit should be eating pet store rabbit food... because its balanced with vitamins especially for rabbits. Cabbage and carrots should be saved for occasional treats, but not for a regular daily diet.
Reply:Our rabbits have always been radiantly healthy. We feed them a bowl of rabbit pellets, a bowl of oatmeal and most importantly, timothy hay. Several times a week I give them some lettuce for a treat but it also can make the stools a bit runny.
Reply:DO NOT feed a rabbit that young ANY fresh foods.

It can give them enteritis and diarrhea and kill them quickly.

They should get unlimited hay, and 1/2 C of pellets a day.

A good rabbit pellet has 16% protein and Alfalfa is the main ingredient.

At the age of 6 months they can have an occasional treat of veggies . (Once a week) Never feed lettuce or cabbage, this can cause severe digestive problems even in older rabbits.

Make sure rabbits always have fresh water.
