Does anyone know how to get a cabbage patch magic touch silk haired doll's hair to actually change colour?

I have been unable to get my daughter doll's hair to change any colou Used ice and hot water.
Does anyone know how to get a cabbage patch magic touch silk haired doll's hair to actually change colour?
DO NOT USE HOT WATER. JUST ICE and if you want them they sell them at TOYS R US. and i would know how, my sister has 1.
Reply:You usually can just touch the hair and it changes color, but if that does not work, take it back to the store, (if you still have your reciept) and tell them that it's defective. I have one and when I touch the hair with my finger, it just changes color right then. Just don't use hot water, it will ruin it.
