I made cabbage, peppers and ham. Have several cups of delicious leftover broth. What can I do with it?

Thought about making a soup, but each recipe I've found tells me how to make the broth. Since I already have a delicious broth, I just want something creative to do with the broth. I almost dumped it out, but when I tasted it, I couldn't help but think this could be the beginning of another great dish.

Make split pea soup, Yum!
Reply:sounds good for a gravy base to me
Reply:I would just freeze it and when you want some soup, defrost and add, perhaps, some cooked carrots and cooked elbow macaroni or carrots and boiled potato. It doen't need too many other ingredients added. It also doen't need to be the main dish. It could be the appetizer. Sounds delish. CarolSandyToes1
Reply:Make bean or lentil soup, and replace the water with broth.
Reply:ham flavored I assume? how about thickining it a bit and adding bow tie pasta, some more ham, julienned carrots and onions and lots of black pepper
Reply:Soup, definitely...add some small pasta, white (cannalini) beans, some minced garlic and dried oregano and you have Italian pasta fajoile (sp.) . Sprinkle grated parmesan cheese over each serving. I sometimes add tomato juice to broth.
Reply:With ham and cabbage the only things missing would be yams, parsnip and apple sauce as a side dish. Use that broth to make soup, but add some sausage to the broth.
Reply:Use it instead of water for making couscous. You could serve it with chicken, or kielbasa. Delicious.
Reply:Glad to hear you saved it ! Use it as the broth for a nice pot of Jambalaya. Or, use it to cook rice or couscous in. Make a nice hearty minestrone or pasta fagiole. I getting hungry just thinking about it.
Reply:YOU CAN USE IT AS A SAUCE,JUST THICKEN IT WITH SOME CORNFLOUR. YOU CAN ALSO FREEZE IT FOR FUTURE USE.
Reply:When I have extra Broth, I bring out the white rice. I use the broth instead of water.

You could also make a pot of beans with your broth.
Reply:Make risotto.
Reply:go with your first instinct and make a soup. only use your broth in place of the broth in the recipe. or dot even use a recipe and just add whatever you want to the soup. good luck!
