Cabbage substitute for cabbage rolls?

Are there options to cabbage in wrapping cabbage rolls? I love them and cabbage but cabbage doesn't love me. Are there any greens that would hold up to the cooking process of cabbage rolls?

Kale holds up great when cooking. (I'd do more of a cream-base instead of a red sauce, be sure to add a dash of nutmeg, to take the bitterness out of the greens.

Otherwise, grape leaves are a favorite, and if you flavor the inside with a tiny bit of Mediterranean spice run (can be found by all regular spices), its amazing, but normal enough to serve to an entire family.
Reply:You could use a tortilla.
Reply:use lasagna
Reply:Use cabbage and don't fret. But first, use Beano.

Reply:try it with bell peppers same ingredients used in both and it tastes just as good...
Reply:I think that is like trying to substitute the cheese in a grilled cheese, it makes it something totally different. That being said I really don't know of any green that would hold up they all kind of get thin and limp and I don't think that would make for a very pleasant texture.
Reply:You can use vine leaves instead of cabbage, I've also used silverbeet/chard on occasions
Reply:I use green peppers. Hollow out the pepper then push the meat mixture into the pepper then cook as you would the cabbage rolls.
Reply:I love cabbage rolls, but, they are so time consuming to make, I have 4 children and not enough time to do anything creative, so, rather than roll the mixture inside of the leaves, I just chop the cabbage and mix it in. it tastes just the same. I am sorry for rambling, this doesn't even come close to answering your question, but, it just so happens that cabbage rolls/casserole was on my menu for this week. This is also good with cottage cheese as a side dish.
