What are the step by step instructions on how to make cabbage soup?

i know the ingredients, i just dont know what i have to put in first, second..etc. or if theres a special way you have to mix things before adding something else

CHUNKY CABBAGE SOUP



1 med. head green cabbage

2 med. carrots, thinly sliced

1 lg. sweet onion

4 ribs celery sliced on the bias

1 envelope onion soup mix

1 lb. lean ground beef, cooked and drained

1 lg. green bell pepper

4 fresh tomatoes or 1 lg. can tomatoes (juice included)



Coarsely chop cabbage, onions and tomatoes. Place first 6 ingredients in large heavy pot with enough water and/or tomato juice to just see through veggies. Simmer until vegetables are tender but not mushy.

Sprinkle with onion soup mix and stir in. Add cooked ground beef and simmer slowly 30 to 45 minutes. Small dice potatoes may be added with meat if desired. This soup works well in a large 5 quart crockpot. This soup freezes well









Garden Cabbage Soup Recipe







This cabbage soup recipe low in fat, with virtually no fat and only 2 (Weight Watchers) points in the whole pot.

INGREDIENTS:



1/2 medium head of cabbage, diced

3 small zucchini, diced

1 large clove garlic, crushed and minced

1/4 tsp dried basil

1/2 tsp black pepper

salt to taste

12 ounces V-8 Vegetable Juice

2 tablespoons tomato paste

1 can (10 1/2 oz) French Onion Soup, undiluted

1 to 2 cups chopped spinach or chard

1/2 cup finely sliced carrots

a dash of Worcestershire sauce

PREPARATION:



Combine all ingredients; cover and cook on low for 8 - 10 hours (HIGH for 4 - 5 hours). Makes about 6 to 8 servings.

2 Bouillon cubes for flavoring

1 stick Celery (not the whole stalk) - diced

1/2 Head of green cabbage - diced

3 Carrots - sliced

2 Bell peppers - any color - sliced

6 Large green onions, or 1 large yellow, white or purple onion - diced

2 cans Tomatoes - either diced or whole

Cooking Spray



Preparation

Salt, pepper, parsley, garlic powder to taste. Use any seasoning that you like to add flavor.



Spray large pot with cooking spray. Saute onions, peppers and carrots until tender. Add cabbage and about 12 cups of water. Toss in bullion cubes, soup mix and seasonings. Cook until soup reaches desired tenderness; add tomatoes.



Cook's Notes

Soup can be reheated and contains very few calories.

Healing Cabbage Soup



INGREDIENTS

3 tablespoons olive oil

1/2 onion, chopped

2 cloves garlic, chopped

2 quarts water

4 teaspoons chicken bouillon

1 teaspoon salt, or to taste

1/2 teaspoon black pepper, or to taste

1/2 head cabbage, cored and coarsely chopped

1 (14.5 ounce) can Italian-style stewed tomatoes, drained and diced



DIRECTIONS

In a large stockpot, heat olive oil over medium heat. Stir in onion and garlic; cook until onion is transparent, about 5 minutes.

Stir in water, bouillon, salt, and pepper. Bring to a boil, then stir in cabbage. Simmer until cabbage wilts, about 10 minutes.

Stir in tomatoes. Return to a boil, then simmer 15 to 30 minutes, stirring often.
