Is it better to boil or bake my corned beef and cabbage?

it takes about the same and time is not important, I am more interested in taste.

I have always cooked it in a crock pot. I think boiling it would dilute the rich flavor. I have never had it baked. It would probably be great too! I had never tried Corned Beef and cabbage until a few years ago. What was I thinking? It is WONDERFUL! I've been missing out!

Happy St. Patricks Day!
Reply:i prefer to boil it with beer and carrots
Reply:i put mine in a slow cooker all day long! mmmm... its how my grandmother and mom do it! its a tradition every year!
Reply:bake it fat side up with some pickling spice on top and about 2 tablespoons of vinegar. then when its almost finished add carrots. potatoes and cabbage and pour 2 more tablespoons vinegar over the veggies stir and bake until veggies are tender.

this is how you get that taste
Reply:I like it cooked on top of the stove, but I simmer (not boil) it until its done. I put my veggies in about an hour before I think the meat will be done. It is absolutely great.
Reply:I have always eaten mine boiled because the veggies I make with it (cabbage and potatoes) turn out so much better cooked in the juices with the meat! I think the meat is good either way but I think the difference is in the veggies.
Reply:I boil my meat, then add the veggies until done. I then pop the meat in the oven with a glaze of mustard and brown sugar on top, till bubby. It gives a great contrast to the meat, but does not dry it out.
