What looks like wild cabbage and has been cultivated for over two thousand years?

Pumpkins. They have a wide genetic pool with shapes, sizes, nutritional contents, fleshiness and water content as variables as well as color and texture.

So they may look very different from each other, but they are same species.

Amerindians from southern US down to Pampas cultivated them for food, storage, scrub fiber, etc.
