Canning and saving cabbage?

IS THERE AWAY I CAN SAVE CABBAGE BY FREEZING IT IN THE FREEZER?
Canning and saving cabbage?
You can try. Cabbage is mostly water, so it may come out mush. Try a small amount first to avoid wasting a large quantity. If you like sauerkraut, that's the best way. Just cabbge and salt.
Reply:You can throw it in a bag and save it whole without blanching if you want to make stuffed cabbage. It softens the leaves and makes it easy to roll without preboiling. Trim off the thick veins though they get tough after freezing....

You could also slice it thin, throw it in a container lay in about an inch at a time and sprinkle a tablesoon or so of kosher salt on each layer, cover put in a cool place - saurkraut in 5 weeks!
Reply:Yes - if necessary! Just blanch it, cool it quickly, bag it, freeze it.

(Blanching requires immersing it in boiling water for a SHORT while.)
