I watched Good Eats on Food TV a few nights ago, and Corned beef was the topic.
The Irish immigrants brought potatoes and cabbage to America and the Jewish added the corned beef!
What country originated Corned Beef %26amp; Cabbage, if it did NOT come from Ireland?
America - the Irish had salt pork and cabbage, but when many immigrated to America, beef was much more plentiful. The Jewish community actually developed Corned Beef, though.
Reply:That's England baby and after WW2 we all had the recipe. it was easy to prepare and in wartime was a staple in many Welsh homes.
