Can cabbage patch type dolls be washed in a washing machine or do i have to wash them by hand?

I would go with washing it by hand, in a basin filled with warm water and probably just some dishwashing soap. Massage all the doll's limbs to work the soap in and then thoroughly rinse--squeezing out all the soap etc. Sometimes you have to actually wring the limbs to get it all out. Then make sure you thoroughly dry the doll. Again wring out all excess water and then leave the doll in the sun to dry. This is how i've done it in the past. We had a very unfortunate experience putting a cabbage patch doll through the wash (the head completely caved in and the eyes washed off!)

I've had two of my cabbage patch dolls for over 20 years and when I want to clean them, they go in the washing machine. Nothing bad has ever happened to them, such as their head collapsing. Report It
Reply:Well I always put them in a pillow case and tied the end and use regular wash and done deal. Report It
Reply:I would just wash and dry it. Tie it in a pillow case and wash it normally like you do your clothes then place it in the dry on regular setting. Good luck. Quick, fast, and they smell good too. Report It
Reply:They are ugly anyways, if there heads get deformed, they may look normal.... Or their lips may finally pop out. Report It
Reply:yo *** is stupid your suppose to do it in the ******* washer ***** dont liste 2 the bitches that told u 2 do it by hand Report It
Reply:We have a total of 22 in my house, and they are all washed in the machine...I just tie them up in a pillow case and I've never had any problems with washing them that way. Report It
Reply:I would always put mine in a pillow case and then put it in the washing machine. Report It
Reply:I have washed my CB several times in the washer. Make sure to use gentle cycle/detergent/drying. Report It
Reply:i think its dangerous to even consider putting one in the washing machine, he or she might drown! its always best to give them a proper bath in a bathtub. Report It
Reply:I agree with Samantha and A.P.M. I have had mine for 23 years and my mother has always washed them in the washing machine inside a pillowcase that is tied at the end, they all come out just fine!! don't waste your time handwashing! Report It
Reply:A pillowcase is what my mom used to wash mine and I do that for my daughter now. It works perfectly! Report It
Reply:by hand...unless the face of the doll is made out of material....if it is then i dont see why not
Reply:I agree with happytwenty. That is the way I have always washed my cabbage patch dolls. :)
