Im looking for a real easy to make cabbage soup recipe please?
2 green bell peppers

3 stalks celery

1 head of green cabbage

1 can diced tomatoes

Knorr Vegetable or Beef Bouillon to taste

Tabasco sauce, if spicy taste is preferred

[edit]Directions

Dice all ingredients up into bite-sized pieces. Put in a saucepan and cover with water. Bring to a boil, and add boullion. Simmer until vegetables are the consistency that you prefer. For most people, this will be about an hour of simmering. If you like, add hot sauce to taste.

After the soup is done, some people enjoy putting the soup in a blender, and giving it a creamy texture. This is a matter of individual preference, and you may want to try it, just to give the Cabbage Soup Diet a bit of variety. Other individuals report that adding just a touch of parmesan to the top of the creamy soup adds greatly to the flavor. Although this is not in keeping with strict rules of the diet, it is certainly a good idea if you are planning to incorporate the cabbage soup into a longer-term diet plan.

Note: The most popular recipe calls for a packet of Lipton Onion Soup Mix. I prefer Knorr, however, the soup mix or any brand of boullion cube should work. Many people use both.

Reply:This is the one I make all the time. I don't measure what I put in...just eyeball everything.

1/2 -1 head of cabbage that's been cut small or shredded thick (depends on how much room you have in your pot)

as many baby carrots as you want, cut in half or in thirds

celery, diced (as much as you want)

1 bunch of green onions, diced

1 can of diced tomatoes

about 2-3 cups of V8 juice

about 4 cups of chicken broth

1 can of black beans, rinsed and drained (optional)

Throw everything into a large pot, add water to cover it. Bring to boil %26amp; simmer for a few hours. No need to saute.

Taste, and add seasoning as you wish...but the broth and V8 should be enough seasoning.

1 lb ground beef

8 cups water

6 teaspoons beef base (or beef bullion cubes)

1 (15 ounce) can crushed tomatoes or diced tomato

1/4 cup dried onion flakes

4 cups cabbage, sliced very thinly, like angel hair coleslaw

1 medium zucchini, cut into small cubes

1/2 cup uncooked brown rice

1.Brown ground beef in skillet, drain and place in soup pot.

2.Add water, beef base (or cubes), dried onion and canned tomatoes.

3.Bring to a boil for about 10 minutes.

4.Add cabbage, zucchini and brown rice.

5.Turn down heat to low, place a lid on soup pot and simmer for about 45 minutes.

6.Add salt and pepper to taste.

#Note: You can substitute canned beef broth for the 'beef base' if you want. I also recommend the low-sodium kind. Also, once the rice is cooked through, if it looks like more water is needed, go ahead and add it to your liking.

4 carrots scaped and chopped

2 large onions chopped

2 stick celery finely chopped

2 litres vegetable stock ( water and veg stock cubes)

Fry onion, carrot, celery on a low heat for 5 mins just to soften then add your chopped or ripped up cabbage leaves (these will wilt quickly and reduce in size). Add stock and leave to simmer for an hour or more. The longer you simmer the better the end result.
