Reply:Get yourself a nice sized corn beef brisket put it in a large pot (one that can you can cover the brisket with water, about an inch over it) then bring it to a boil, while this is happening chop about six good size red potatoes, a large head of cabbage and some carrots(or you can throw in a bag of baby carrots chop an onion(yellow)have black pepper corns about table spoon.when the water begins to boil, put in the Potatoes carrots onion pepper corns and cabagge. bring back to a boil stirring occasionally and then reduce heat to a simmer cover set your timer to check it about every thirty minutes.the potato's will tell you when its done when you put a fork into them and they are tender it's done. Now here is were a lot of people screw up,put the corned beef on a plate separate from the rest to cool alittle it needs to rest be for you carve it or it will be to stringy and carve it across the gran.Happy cooking (it could take a few hours be prepared depending on the size of your Corned Beef.
Reply:hello megs if you scroll down the list on food and drink/cooking, there are many answers to your question, i hope that helps x
Reply:I always cook my corned beef for about 10 hours in a crockpot, covered with water. It rurns out more tender that way. Or you can simmer it on the stove for about 3 hours. Then cut the cabbage into wedges and cook it in the broth until tender.
Reply:Buy the corn beef and the cabbage of course then you need pot maybe one you would cook greens in or a large thing of spaghetti in, wash the corn beef be genital with it then season it on both sides, lightly though cause corn beef is already salty put in the pot with enough water to cover it completely some people cook the cabbage with it I guess you could, wash your cabbage and chop it up with maybe a meat cleaver into 1/4 sized chunks or maybe 1/8 size put it in the pot also some people add ham hocks and things like that for flavor it's strictly up to you, let it boil until the corn beef is tender you should be able to tear away at it and the cabbage will be very soft and you should be able to taste it, it's should take maybe up to 4 hours depending on how fast you cook it I suggest a medium fire and go for the fours and cook it slow and add your sides and that's it! It cooks it's self and will make it's own juice. buy the way crock pots take way longer
Reply:I am trying a different recipe from an Irish friend. I put the corned beef fat side down in a roasting pan. I sprinkled it with paprika and the little package that comes with it. I then rubbed brown sugar - lots of it - on top, added a cup of water to the pan, and put it in the oven at 300 degrees. It needs to cook for about 3 hours or so. I am then adding a little more water, new potatoes, and steamed cabbage. I will cook it for another hour covered with foil. I hope it tastes as good as it smells right now!
