Please help I need the cabbage soup recipe!?

I want to lose some weight and eat healthy and I remember hearing about a cabbage soup recipe that was really good for this.Does anyone know the ingredients and if so can you give them to me?

I started using a boxed chicken soup broth which is now the base for several of my homemade soups.

Recipe for Cabbage soup MY OWN

1/2 Spanish or Vidalia onion sliced

2 one litre boxes of chicken broth

1/2 a large cabbage sliced

1 28 ounce can stewed tomatoes or whole tomatoes

pepper, granulated garlic, salt if needed

2 tbsp honey

lemon juice

oil for frying

optional other vegetables-- cauliflower, zucchini, carrots celery.

cut and dice all veggies and cook together in a pie plate in the microwave for 10 minutes except onions

Fry onions in a soup pot in the oil

Add the chicken broth

Add all precooked veggies

add can of tomatoes

Add seasonings to taste

including honey and lemon juice

Cook about 1/2 to 1 hour on medium heat

There you have it, a just delicious cabbage soup

4 slices of bacon, cooked %26amp; crumbled

1 pound lean ground beef, cooked, crumbled, well drained

1 lg. onion, chopped

3 lg. potatoes, cubed

4 c. cabbage, shredded

3 cups chicken broth or vegetable broth

1 large can (28 ounces) crushed tomatoes

1 can kidney beans

salt and pepper, to taste

PREPARATION:

Brown bacon and ground beef; drain and add to slow cooker with all other ingredients. Cook on low 7 to 9 hours. Taste and adjust seasonings.

6 large green onions

2 green peppers

1 or 2 cans of tomatoes (diced or whole)

3 Carrots

1 Container (10 oz. or so) Mushrooms

1 bunch of celery

half a head of cabbage

1 package Lipton soup mix

1 or 2 cubes of bouillon (optional)

1 48oz can V8 juice (optional)

Season to taste with salt, pepper, parsley, curry, garlic powder, etc.

Directions:



Slice green onions, put in a pot and start to saute with cooking spray.



Cut green pepper stem end off and cut in half, take the seeds and membrane out. Cut the green-pepper into bite size pieces and add to pot.



Take the outer leafs layers off the cabbage, cut into bite size pieces, add to pot.



Clean carrots, cut into bite size pieces, and add to pot.



Slice mushrooms into thick slices, add to pot.



If you would like a spicy soup, add a small amount of curry or cayenne pepper now.



You can use beef or chicken bouillon cubes for seasonings. These have all the salt and flavors you will need.



Use about 12 cups of water (or 8 cups and the V8 juice), cover and put heat on low. Let soup cook for a long time - two hours works well. Season to taste with salt and pepper.

Reply:The cabbage soup diet allowed you to eat as much of it as you want all day everyday along with other things.

Lipton onion soup mix, onions, tomatoes, cabbage and you can add other non starchy veggies if you like.

Day one: All the vegetables you want including one potatoe.

Day two: All the fruit you want except bananas.

Day three: All the fruit and vegetables you want without the potatoe or bananas.

Day four: 6 banana's and 8 glasses of skim milk.

Day 5. Brown rice and 8 ounces of beef. (I added this to the soup and ate it)

1 onion, minced

1 tsp. soy sauce

1/2 tablespoon butter

1 tablespoon olive oil

1 head Savoy or green cabbage

2-3 cloves garlic, minced

4 cups brown stock

Salt and pepper

1 tablespoon minced parsley

Pork spare ribs (optional)

1/2 cup long grain rice, rinsed





Lightly sauté the onion in olive oil and butter in a saucepan until translucent.

Shred the cabbage and stir in. Add minced garlic.



Make the brown stock and bring briefly to a boil.



Add stock, soy sauce and spare ribs (if using).



Simmer the soup at low heat setting for about 30 minutes or until ribs are tender, adding rinsed uncooked rice during last 12-14 minutes of cooking.



Season to taste with salt and pepper, if desired.



Variations: Escarole, Kale, Bok Choy or Napa Chinese Cabbage may be substituted for cabbage. Minor's Pork base may be used in place of brown stock. Onions can be sautéed at start with a slice of chopped pancetta instead of using butter.

Reply:Hmm, maybe what you were thinking of was the boiled cabbage recipe? You just boil the cabbage, add a dash of salt, and there you go. Easy and tasteless.
