How should I cook cabbage with a pork shoulder roast???

If you will use a separate pan rather than cooking it in with the roast, I would suggest Sweet and Sour Cabbage. The sauce for it is very much like the one used on hot German potato salad. I made it earlier this week with pork chops but it would also be excellent with your roast.



Or maybe you want to turn it into shredded pork...that's the cut I use to make barbequed shredded pork.



Lots of recipes for both on the web. I use Better Homes %26amp; Gardens' recipe for the cabbage and just wing it with honey bbq sauce for the shredded pork.

slice and place into pan of boiling water a short time before you start to serve the meal .( 5-10 Min's) drain then place back in pan over heat for 30 seconds take off heat add butter and pepper , then bash with the edge of a plate or saucer to infuse then serve
Reply:Put the pork and some chicken broth(or beef)in a dutch oven and don't turn the heat very high under it. Salt and pepper it to taste and a little garlic wouldn't hurt. The fat in your shoulder roast should keep it tender, Cook it for a good long while (2 or 3 hours). About 1/2 hour beforeyou plan to eat, quarter the cabbage and place it in with the meat. Bon Appetit
Reply:4 cups shredded cabbage

1 onion, chopped

1/2 cup brown sugar

1/2 cup apple cider vinegar

1/2 tsp. salt

1/4 tsp. pepper

3 pound boneless pork shoulder roast



Combine cabbage, onion, brown sugar, and vinegar in 4 to 4 quart slow cooker. Sprinkle roast with salt and pepper and brown in heavy skilllet, about 5-6 minutes total, turning until browned on all sides.Place pork in slow cooker; cover, and cook on Low for 7-8 hours until pork registers 160 degrees F. Serves 6
Reply:Quarter the cabbage and boil it by itself until tender.
Reply:Wedge it and fry in a buttered pan. then add salt and pepper.
