Live in Texas and there are no Big Boys here :( need their cabbage soup!! Anyone know the recipe??

I love Big Boys Cabbage soup and their slim jims! So yummy.

But in Texas we don't have any Big Boy's. That being said will someone please give me the recipe for their cabbage soup. I have been craving it since I moved here. LOL

BIG BOY'S CABBAGE SOUP



1 c. shredded cabbage

1 c. chopped onions

1/2 c. chopped celery

1/4 c. chopped green pepper

1 qt. water

1 qt. tomatoes

6 beef bouillon cubes

3 tbsp. sugar

Salt and pepper to taste

Several drops of hot sauce



Cook cabbage, onions, celery and green pepper in 1 quart of water until tender. Add remaining ingredients. Serve. Better if it can be made the day before and let stand overnight.

1 (12-ounce) can V-8 juice



4 ribs celery cut in 2-inch pieces



2 cans (14 ounces each) sliced stewed tomatoes



2 cans (14 ounces each) clear beef broth



1 broth can water



1 smoked pork hock (3/4 pound) or ham steak in bite-size pieces



1 onion, about the size of a lemon, diced



1/4 of a 2 1/2-pound head cabbage, diced and cored and outer leaves discarded



1 (14-ounce) can sliced carrots, undrained and finely diced



1 envelope onion soup mix



1 teaspoon dry minced parsley



Generous dash pepper



Salt to taste if desired



Put V-8 juice and celery into blender and blend on high speed, about half a minute or until minced. Pour into 6-quart kettle and add each remaining ingredient as listed.



Bring to boil.



Cover and reduce to gentle simmer — simmering two hours or until cabbage is tender.



Serves 6.



Recipe may be cut in half. Freezes well. Thaw and reheat within six months.

Ingredients

1 package Lipton soup mix

2 Bouillon cubes for flavoring

1 stick Celery (not the whole stalk) - diced

1/2 Head of green cabbage - diced

3 Carrots - sliced

2 Bell peppers - any color - sliced

6 Large green onions, or 1 large yellow, white or purple onion - diced

2 cans Tomatoes - either diced or whole

Cooking Spray



Preparation

Salt, pepper, parsley, garlic powder to taste. Use any seasoning that you like to add flavor.



Spray large pot with cooking spray. Saute onions, peppers and carrots until tender. Add cabbage and about 12 cups of water. Toss in bullion cubes, soup mix and seasonings. Cook until soup reaches desired tenderness; add tomatoes.



Cook's Notes

Soup can be reheated and contains very few calories.
Reply:Buy the soup pack in the store and dump it in your pot. Be sure to add the water!
