How do you cook your cabbage?

with a little love!??
How do you cook your cabbage?
I fry up a package of bacon or salt pork, remove it from the pan once its done and keep the grease. Next, I chop up an onion and saute that in the bacon grease. Then I add my cabbage, once I have rinsed it and cut it up in chunks. Let it cook down until its tender. Then crumble the bacon into the cabbage.
Reply:I steam it... layer like this in a steamer pot: 3 handfuls chopped (bite-sized) cabbage, 3 pats up butter, 2 tablespoons cider vinegar and dashes of salt, black pepper and powdered mustard. Do this as many times as you can with the amount of cabbage you're using, steam for about 20-25 minutes(Until tender), drain and serve.
Reply:quarter the head of cabbage and place each quarter on a square of aluminum foil. Sprinkle each with salt and pepper. place a couple of pats of butter and two slices of bacon on each. Close the foil as tightly as possible and either place on BBQ grill or in oven. (the grill gives the best flavor) cook until tender but still firm.

I have never cared for cooked cabbage until I tried this recipe! I love it cooked this way!
Reply:I have cooked it two different ways that are delicious. The first is fried cabbage which consists of frying a pound of bacon in a large fry pan then after the bacon is crisp remove the bacon and put a whole head of chopped cabbage into the pan. Keep cooking it at about the same heat as you cooked the bacon until the cabbage is tender - stir regularly. Crumble the bacon and mix it through the cabbage and serve. It sounds weird but it is a family favorite.

I have also made cabbage in a pot with new potatoes, sliced kielbasa, chopped cabbage and beer. Cook over medium until potatoes and cabbage are tender. It's delicious and a great meal that's actually fairly healthy.
Reply:boil it until soft, eat it with salt and butter
Reply:many ways but mainly if going for a quick side dish i saute some chopped garlic Wash and rough chop the cabbage add to pan with garlic salt and pepper add about 1cup of chicken stock and just let it cook until tender

but if going for a one pot meal i do the same as above except when i saute my garlic i add 1 chopped carrot and one good sized potato chopped add cabbage chopped and slice up about 1/2lb of polish sausage let it all cook until tender and you have a good hearty winter meal or if you add more chicken stock you have a hearty stew
Reply:boil it until it is soft
Reply:I make cabbage and noodles.

Boil 1 package egg noodles

Slice 1 head of cabbage and1 large onion and saute in butter.Season with salt, pepper and seasoned salt.

Drain noodles when done.

When cabbage is tender mix with noodles and enjoy!
Reply:will,I make soup. I put pork, garlic, onion, of course cabbage, water, and seasoning that's all (*-*)
Reply:I cut the cabbage, wash it, put in a pan with oil or bacon grease and let it cook until it soften. Sometimes I may use green peppers, or keilbasa sausage to season it. If I boil it, I use ham or chicken broth to season it.
Reply:I saute it in olive oil and then serve with Parmesan cheese
Reply:I slice it real thin, saute it with a little butter, salt and pepper and slices of onion.
