Has anyone heard of freezing a head of cabbage before preparing pigs in the blanket?

Yes, You could do that instead of blanching the leaves. But you would have to let them defrost first of course. It will make the leaves more pliable and keep them from breaking while stuffing and rolling. I would normally boil them for a few seconds though.

No,I have never heard that, but I can't see why not, because once it thaws out, it will be easy to work with too, gotta try it next time I make some pigs in the blanket, ought to be easier then messing with hot water, thanks
Reply:No, I haven't. But, then I don't know what a head of cabbage has to do with pigs in a blanket, anyway......I thought pigs in a blanket were hot dogs, or sausages wrapped in crescent rolls and then baked. Cabbage?
Reply:Don't understand your question but I have frozen cabbage from my garden before and then cook in roasts or fry.
