What is it with small hands and smelling like cabbage?

What does it mean when someone has small hands and someone says they must smell like cabbage? My roommate has small hands and one night we went to a bar with a friend, and a guy there noticed how small her hands were and said she smelled like cabbage? I've heard it mentioned elsewhere, and I don't know what it means.
