Can anyone suggest a good companion plant to deter cabbage white on Brassicas?

I know I could use mesh, but it looks unsightly and I really don't want to spend my hectic days picking off catterpillas!! I have tried garlic with broad beans which has been very successful!
Can anyone suggest a good companion plant to deter cabbage white on Brassicas?

Reply:Try chives or garlic as companion plants for your cabbage problems. Chives are faster growing than garlic and are virtually cut and come again.

Reply:I think cabbage whites are scent guided - so something smelly - maybe plant garlic, onions, and some herbs like rosemary, lavender, sage?
